Portfolio - Spencer Winters Design

History and Practices

I have enjoyed and experimented with design since I was young. My initial flirtations were with the medium of print, using now defunct tools such as Adobe Pagemaker. Among my print achievments was my experiences as editor and art director of a small magazine entitled Emu Skatezine.

Eventually, the magazine led me to the web, when costs of printing became to high for a non-profit endevor. I quickly learned the ways of the new medium, developing my own skillset and toolbox.

All the projects in this portfolio were created graphically with Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and hand coded using XHMTL for structure and CSS for layout.

The advantages of these technologies, dubbed Web Standards, range from hightened usability to vastly more efficient maintainence. A Web Standards FAQ is available if you would like to be further enlightened. Click the thumbnails above to view projects in my portfolio.
